Oshodi-Isolo LG to Train Youths in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Works, Others

All is set for the training of young residents of Oshodi-Isolo local government on Mechanical Engineering, roads and building constructions.

The council chairman, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede who disclosed this on Friday said the training which will begin in December will extensively cover all aspects of mechanical engineering, roads and building construction. At the end of the training, Oloyede said, five trainees will be taken to Italy to further the training.

“We have perfected plans to commence training on Mechanical Engineering, Roads and Building Construction this December for our youths in Oshodi. This training which is solely sponsored by the local government will enable our youths to at the end of it manage and maintain our properties at the council, this is a way to ensure that the youths are self-dependent. Let me state that at the end of the trainee at the local government level here, we shall sponsor five trainees on all-paid expenses to Italy to further their skill.”

Oloyede said the training is part of his campaign promises to empower youths to become self-sufficient and independent.

He said: “This is part of our commitment and it is in fulfilment of our campaign promises to empower youths to become financially independent. We will continue to explore all positive means to ensure the realisation of our dream.”

He said forms will be out from Monday for interested members of the community to fill out for the commencement of the training. Interested persons will visit the United Nations Development Programme office at the local government to pick up the forms.

The council boss said the training will also help to better develop the local government as he said the trainees will be given opportunities to man and manage the council’s gadgets, equipment and other properties of the council.
