Oloyede Receives United Nation’s Humanitarian Award

The International Association of World Peace Advocate (IAWPA) United Nations has presented Humanitarian of the year award to the executive chairman of the Oshodi-Isolo local government, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede.

The award was presented by the president of the organisation, Ambassador Salami Saheed, to the executive chairman on Tuesday at his Oyetayo Office.

He said the award was in commemoration of the United Nations World Humanitarian Day which was celebrated recently.

Accordingly to him, “We had United Nations Humanitarian Day just recently and we were given the privilege to nominate the people to give award in line of their humanitarian activities. We nominated you, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo), and we are glad to inform you that you won the Lagos State Humanitarian Award of the year. We have presented others theirs but you were not around at the award day, that is why we deem it fit to present this to you today at your office,” he said.

Oloyede in return thanked the United Nations ambassadors for the award and said it the entire people of the local government that win the award.

The council boss said its will further spur him to do more for the people of the local government and humanity in general.

“Thank you for recognising our effort at making life better for our people through provision of infrastructures. I am not the recipient of this award, it is the whole local government that won it.
We will not stop in our work at giving back to the people the basic infrastructure to make life easier and better for them,” he said.

Also present during the presentation include leader of the house, Hon. Rasheed Obasa, Hon. Afeez Jayeola, Hon. Kazeem Abayomi, Hon. Adega Temitope, Hon. Khadija Jimoh and Chief of Staff, Hon. Leke Banjoko.
