… School rewards best performing students
Students of the Likemind Academy, a private co-educational secondary school in Obantoko, Abeokuta Ogun state have outshined their colleagues in the just released Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the state.
The students who were shouldered home high haven performed excellently in the examination were described as the pride of the school by its Academic Director, Mr Wasiu Oladele.
Mr Oladele while appreciating God and the parents for their support in the success of the students promised that more feats will be achieved in the coming years as the school is seriously preparing all students well for other external and internal examinations.
The Academic Director also showcase the most recent Awards won by the school. As he said, “Professor Wole Soyinka awarded Likemind Academy, we also bagged Ogun State First lady Award which was presented by Dr. (Mrs) Bamidele Abiodun herself and equally won senior National Quranic competition.”
Chairman board of directors of the school, Prince Adesegun Ogungbayi, in his words said the school being its first time after approval by the Ogun state ministry of education, the school has proved itself worthy of academic success as exemplified by the students’ results.
Ogungbayi said the Basic Education Certificate Broadsheet sent to Likeminds Model Academy reveals that all the eighteen graduands of Junior Secondary school performed excellently well with Dawud Abdurahaman, Abbas Mumeenah, Liadi Mutiat, Yusuf Rodiyyah making Distinctions in all the 10 subjects registered. Akako Aliyah, Dawodu Maryam, and Junaid Haneefah secured nine (9) distinctions and one (1) credit out of the 10 subjects registered. Abdulrauf Mubarak, Akinbola Hamdalah also made 8 distinctions and two (2) credits out of the 10 registered subjects. Adekunle Nimotallahi, Muhammad Huseinah and Rasak Barakat made 7 distinctions and three (3) credits out of the 10 subjects. Bakare Umar made 6 distinctions and four (4) credits out of the 10 registered subjects.
Othere are Harauna Salamoh and Adewale Rasheedat made 5As and five (5) credits out of the 10 registered subjects. Adebayo Mariam made three 3 distinctions and seven (7) credits out of the 10 registered subjects. While Usman Abdulqudus also made two 2 distinctions and eight (8) Cs.
The Board Chairman said the success was achieved through dint of hardwork.
He said; “no discipline, no academic success, the higher the level of lawlessness in the school, the higher the level failure! Likemind Academic Director has been an embodiment of discipline that’s why the first edition was like that. He made adequate use of the set Academic Target. All students have right to attain distinctions if the school are disciplined enough to strengthen them. Today, am highly delighted to celebrate all the eighteen (18) academic champions of Likemind Model Academy, they have written their individual family name in gold and the Abeokuta community bears testimony to your scholarly performance which was also showcased at the last academic year’s Prize Giving Day/Graduation ceremony.”
