Kendoo FC Breaks 16 years jinx, wins U17 Global-Life Championship Unity Cup

The Oshodi-Isolo local government football team named Kendoo FC has broken a sixteen year old jinx by winning the U17 Global-Life Championship Unity Cup.

This trophy is the first that will be won by the Oshodi-Isolo Local Government football team in 16 years of its creation.

The executive chairman of Oshodi-Isolo local government, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede was pleased to received the council’s football team after they emerge victorious in the under 17 Championship Unity competition hosted by Global-Life Organization, Ikeja, Lagos.

While presenting the trophy to the chairman, the coach of the team, Mr Jackson Akinleye said they were pleased to present the trophy to the executive chairman in office.

Receiving the team and the trophy at his office, Otunba Oloyede showed his appreciation for the discipline and doggedness of the team that made them overall winner in the competition and to be able to break the 16 years jinx of no trophy.

He said; “I am extremely happy to receive our victorious wonderful team today. I am pleased to hear that you made first position in the competition and broke 16 years of no trophy jinx in our local government. This is yet another landmark event happening in our administration and many positive things will still happen.

“We will show even more support than what we have been doing before. We will explore ways through which we can give our team an international exposure and by the grace of God, we will have international stars from our dear Oshodi some days.”

The players and their coach were full of appreciation to the council honcho as he promised unprecedented support for the team. He equally promised them sporting materials.

Oloyede promised to invest more in youths development to make them better leaders of tomorrow.

The players in turn thanked the council helmsman for his kind gesture as they promised to keep their form and intensify efforts towards making the local government proud always.
