250 Apapa LG Youths to benefit from Project One Million Job Initiative

All plans have been perfected by the Apapa Local Government to train 250 youths of the council in the maritime sector.

The training which is co-sponsored by the Apapa local government, Consortium of Employment Clinic Ltd, Federal Ministry of Transportation, Mediterranean Shipping Company, Sifax Group and Lotus Bank will feature a Maritime conversion Programme which will kick off on 1st of November 2022.

In this phase, the council chairman, Hon Adejumoke Senbanjo said the selected youths will be trained in the requisite port skills and equipped with the capacity to work in the sector.

It will be recalled that the lead organization -Employment Clinic facilitated enlistment of over 2,000 youths in the NIMASA marine cadet program where youths were trained and sent abroad by the agency for international Maritime Training and Seafaring.

Senbanjo said the project is in line with The Port City’s vision of her administration to empower youths to become employable and be self sustainance.
