The executive chairman of Oshodi-Isolo local government, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede has presented a N3,415,982,880.44 (N3.4b) 2023 appropriation budget to the council’s legislative arm for approval.
Oloyede while presenting the budget proposal tagged ‘budget of hope redemption’ assured of provision of more dividends of democracy to the people of the council.
According to the chairman, ‘more capital projects on infrastructure will be embarked upon in the coming year’.
Of the N3.4b total budget, N1,299,589,728.26 will be expended as capital expenditure for the 2023 fiscal year.
He said; “we have promised to bring democracy to the doorsteps of the good people of Oshodi-Isolo and to also improve the standard of living in the area, by providing infrastructural amenities like good roads, quality education, provision of educational support to pupils, provision of health care for the people.”
“We want to do more than we did in the past, that is why we gave our capital expenditure the highest vote in the budget, we will provide our people with basic social amenities. We have given two students free scholarships to study in Canada.”
Oloyede at the budget presentation, reeled out his achievement in office for the outing going year before the legislators saying more will be done in the coming year.
He thanked the legislative arm for their support in the last one year saying he hopes to receive more support as the year 2023 fiscal year begins by accelerating the passage of the budget.
Leader of the legislative arm, Hon Abdulrasheed Obasa in response thanked the executive chairman for not letting them down in his administration. He commended the forthrightness of the chairman in the discharge of his duties.
The legislator, while assuring the council boss of speedy deliberations and approval of the budget, commended him for the good work he has done in the last one year. He said he hopes that the chairman will surpass his last achievement in the coming years.
